BERTHA

Product Design

Emulating such brands as Bvlgari and Van Cleef and Arpels, Bertha brought these stylized depictions of nature to an affordable market. As this was the first in-house women’s watch brand I had worked on, I made it my pet project, and advocated for a watch depicting an owl (which were very trendy in the early 2010’s). When it became a best-seller (I even saw someone wearing it when I was on vacation in the Caribbean), I was able to design over a dozen more illustrated watch faces.

BOUM

Product Design

Due to the success of the Bertha “owl” watch, I was given the task of creating affordable and fun fashion brand of watches. I came up with the concept of “Boum” which is an old-fashioned French colloquialism for “party” (literally meaning “bang”). These watches reflect the trends of the 2012-2014 era. I worked closely with Chinese manufacturers in working out design and price.
